In the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic, many schools have made the SAT and ACT standardized testing an optional field. Does this mean the decline in the importance of ACT and SAT? Prior to the pandemic, there has already been a clear trend that the importance of standardized testing was decreasing.

I think SAT and ACT will continue decreasing in importance, since colleges are looking more so towards extracurriculars and other activities now!

Yes, they’re still important. While schools may state they are going test-optional, having a good SAT/ACT score regardless is a good indicator of  commitment and can serve as an additional bolstering factor to your transcript/academics.
